lazy sunday afternoon creations

After a few weeks of slogging it out writing reports, they're finally finished and I can have some semblance of a weekend back! So once all work was out of the way this morning, I had planned to curl up with a new book all afternoon...but then inspiration struck! I needed to make a pressie for a friend who's having her hen do this coming weekend and so decided to have a rummage through my box of fabric, ribbons and buttons...which has been untouched for far too long!

This is what I came up with:

Not bad for a lazy sunday afternoon's work! The first heart is destined to be the hen-do pressie, and I think the other may be given to a friend as a surprise :)

Well, here goes...

I've been meaning to start a blog for a long while; I read so many house and fashion oriented blogs, it only seems fair somehow that I start my own.
So how to begin. Well, I'm a 22 year old primary teacher with a class of boisterous, hilarious 5 and 6 year olds; I love my job. I live in the West Midlands with my OH - we're trying to escape our rented house into our dream Victorian bay-fronted house but the deposit saving plan is going verrrrry slowly. I love to have a good rummage in charity shops and car boot sales, although I don't get to do this as often as I like. I'm in the process of adding beautiful bits to the house I share with my OH, although being rented property, I can't paint as many walls and whack so many nails in as I'd like!
I seem to be rapidly turning into my mum and developing a love of gardening. I've got a growing collection of pots and tubs outside my door, growing fruit, veg and pretty fleurs!
So I'm hoping this blog will be a means for me to record my thrifty finds, craft projects, favoruite foodie bits and my successes (and failures!) in the garden!
